Calculating the Mean Absolute Error (MAE)
MAE is the mean value of the absolute difference between the real values (yj) and the predicted values (ŷj). It cannot tell us the direction of the error, meaning that the prediction could be above or below the true value. If we have a total of N data points, we can calculate MAE as follows:
